Red Summer Soiree After Math

SOLD OUT! Red Pump’s Red Summer Soiree (DC) was another success. All corners of social media, photographers, bloggers and entrepreneurs were all in attendance along with leaders from nonprofits and other organizations to donate generously to such a great cause.
The event kicked off with press and red carpet interviews with JSW’s CEO Jameka Whitten with colleagues and social media personnel while others mingled, exchanged business cards and caught up on lost time during social hour. With champagne glasses forever flowing with unlimited mimosas and a fly DJ (DJ E-Boogie) playing hit after hit, Red Pump’s HIV/Aids commemoration brunch was an extravaganza unlike any other. Not only did the event sell out, it was such a success that Mayor Vincent C. Gray of Washington DC proclaimed, Saturday, June 21, 2014 “Red Pump Day” in DC! It does not get any better than that!
As an exquisite three course brunch was being served three bold, fearless and strong women shared their stories on the affects of the HIV/Aids viruses. It was an emotional reenactment as tears filled the room. However, their stories were very empowering, inspirational, encouraging and full of wisdom! “HIV and AIDS isn’t a death sentence.” The afternoon ended honoring Lisa Fager Bediako with the 2014 Ultimate Red Pump Rocker Award for her hard work and dedication in the community! This brunch’s main objective was to commemorate, as well as educate about HIV/AIDS, promote safe sex amongst all races and genders, bring awareness and to give back to such an amazing cause. Red Pump delivered a phenomenal message and JSW was proud to be a part.
This was my first Red Pump event since joining the JSW Team, and I am so grateful for the opportunity and chance to witness this spectacular benefit brunch. I left The Red Summer Soiree forever changed, feeling secure about HIV awareness, amped and over joyed to educate, network and dazzle with new colleagues. Next mission Red Pump Charlotte’s 6th Annual Red Pump/Red Tie Affair on December 6, 2014—SAVE THE DATE!
