The Sunset Jazz Festival will return on September 19 at Symphony Park at SouthPark mall. The Sunset Jazz Festival is known for providing an unparalleled music experience by showcasing some of the region’s best jazz performers. The event is still FREE to festival goers, but this year the event is providing good music for a good cause by supporting the Urban League of the Central Carolinas.
“At Pride we are passionate about giving back to the community,” said Torrey Feimster, publisher of Pride Magazine. “We understand that these are challenging economic times, especially for non-profits. The Urban League has been hit hard and recently lost 40% of its United Way funding. In lieu of charging attendees, guests will be encouraged to donate to the Urban League. All donations collected will be presented to the Urban League, a pillar in our community, at this year’s festival.”
What’s New: Multicultural Career Pavilion
In addition, this year’s festival will feature the Multicultural Career Pavilion. This unique Career Pavilion, produced by Pride Public Relations, is a designated networking area within the festival that will allow corporate human resources and supplier diversity professionals to connect with talented individuals and small businesses in the greater-Charlotte community. With music as the backdrop, the Multicultural Career Pavilion will add a new element to the Sunset Jazz Festival. Space will be limited at the career pavilion. Individuals can pre-register only and it is on a first come, first serve basis. If you are interested in pre-registering or would like more details, please email neph@pridecommunications.net.
The Sunset Jazz Festival has had 18 years of success and remains free to the public thanks to the support of its sponsors and contributors. This year’s sponsors include: Bank of America, the Charlotte Observer, Lance, Lowe’s, RadioOne/Q92.7, Pride Magazine, SouthPark mall, WCNC TV and WFAE Radio.
