Charlotte, NC— Get ready for Charlotte’s most fashionable cocktail party of the season—all for a great cause. JSW Media Group in partnership with The Red Pump Project-Charlotte is proud to host The 2nd Annual Red Pump/Red Tie Affair: A World AIDS Day Gala on December 1, 2010 at the Historic Palmer Building (2601 East Seventh Street near Uptown Charlotte) from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The evening will feature an awards ceremony honoring Dee Dee Richardson who serves as the Prevention for Positives Coordinator for Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN) and is a formidable AIDS Activist in the Charlotte community. Richardson’s story is one of true triumph and inspiration. The Red Pump/Red Tie Affair is a signature event for The Red Pump Project (www.theredpumpproject.com) to help further its mission to raise awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls, ensuring that women are empowered with accurate knowledge about HIV/AIDS and the issues surrounding it. A portion of the proceeds from the 2010 Red Pump/Red Tie Affair will be donated to RAIN for all of the great work they do in our community.
Guests will enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres by Chef Jay Executive Chef of Chateau Noir (who will also perform a live cooking demo), dessert from Southern Cake Queen, smooth jazz by 5th and York, spoken word performances by Respect The Mic Slam team, photography by visual artist Naya’Hri Zaire-Suhalia, DJ Tequila on the turntables, and a “Rock The Red” fashion show featuring the collections of eco-chic line Amendment Clothing (Charlotte, NC); Nationalities Beauty Firm will present two Atlanta-based Fashion Designers and an online fashion boutique: A.N.A.M Clothing-Anastasia Southwick, Fashenelle by Shenelle Evans and Crystyles Boutique. Charlotte-based Oomph Boutique will also preview the latest in chic contemporary women’s wear. Patrick Marsh (Celebrity Make Up Artist) and Katrice Thompkins (Celebrity/Master Stylist)—both represented by Nationalities Beauty Firm—will be providing their services for the fashion show. Additionally, nationally recognized and award winning Lockstar Salon is a proud hair and make-up sponsor for the affair. All of these elements will make The Red Pump/Red Tie Affair Charlotte’s “can’t miss” cocktail party for the second year in a row. Talk show host and media personality T. Strong (Fox News Charlotte, Paper Dolls Radio, StyleMayvin.com) along with legendary Hip Hop artist Special Ed will co-host this year’s evening of fashionable philanthropy. District Court Judge Donald Cureton and 2009 Red Pump Honoree DeVondia Roseborough are also scheduled to be in attendance.
