My 1st Suit and FLJ Enterprise Present “Tailored Tuesday”
An Exclusive STYLE Week Charlotte Event for Business, Fashion and Entertainment Industry Insiders
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 2011) The newly formed non-profit organization, My 1st Suit in association with FLJ Enterprise has announced its upcoming networking event “Tailored Tuesday” scheduled for April 12, 2011 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at Chima Brazilian Restaurant (139 S. Tryon Street) in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. The mixer will include giveaways, networking with executives from the business, non -profit and fashion industries as well as an opportunity to learn firsthand about My 1st Suit’s current company initiatives.
My 1st Suit was founded on a straight forward principle— to change the lives of young men. The overall mission of My 1st Suit is to create awareness about young adults’ self-esteem and how it contributes to their daily lives. A huge part of the focus is young men ages 18-26 who live in disadvantaged socio-economic areas. My 1st Suit will partner with men’s clothing companies and boutiques in order to outfit 15 young men annually in their first suit. All of the young men in the program will participate in a five-weekend intensive that will include courses on sharpening business skills and character building.
“My 1st Suit will be that place to give young men opportunity and expose them to people, places and things that will stretch them mentally,” says Christopher J. Williams, Founder and Creator of My 1st Suit. “The simple power of exposure can change lives tremendously.”
“Tailored Tuesday” is the first in a series of mixers to support My 1st Suit and bring the most influential men and women in Charlotte together to network and connect for a great cause. This installment of “Tailored Tuesday” is an official STYLE Week Charlotte event and is open to the public. Admission is complimentary, but donations will be gladly accepted.
