In 2011, Donald Wilson founded Blach [pronounced black] Collar Entertainment, a full-service production company that provides photography and videography for everything ranging
from weddings, parties and corporate events to music videos, public service announcements and commercials. The founder, Donald Wilson, is an accomplished photographer, cinematographer, poet, film – music video – and television commercial director, and video editor. An actor by trade, Donald’s passion for performing arts emerged during his early years as a theater student at the University of North Carolina- Charlotte campus; he later fell into the behind-the-scenes aspect of film, and the rest is cinematic history. Donald began his film/video career by shooting club and event recaps, then moving on to music videos and television commercials. He is now in the process of working on both short films and full length features with his industry colleagues. Through his videography work, Donald discovered that he also had a knack for photography and has been honing his craft ever since.
Blach Collar Entertainment is spelled the way it is for myriad reasons. The ch in blach stands for change. Donald wants people to continually change themselves and others around them for the better—through self-enrichment, community service or philanthropy. Donald chose Blach Collar because of the white and blue collar scale in the work force. White being the highest and blue being the middle, he chose blach to represent not only all minorities, but people starting at the bottom who are always striving for the top.
