SouthEnd ARTS Announces Closing Celebration & Farewell for “Expressions of Hope” Exhibition at Myers Park United Methodist Church’s Center of Hope on November 19

SouthEnd Arts Closing Ceremony

SouthEnd ARTS, a nonprofit organization with a mission to build a community committed to racial equity and social justice through the arts, bids farewell with the closing ceremonies for its final exhibition, “Expressions of Hope,” on Tuesday, November 19 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. This event marks the culmination of a successful  six-year run for SouthEnd ARTS and coincides with the retirement of its volunteer executive director and founder, K. Liles.

A Celebration of Art and Community

The closing ceremony will serve as a celebration of local artistic talent and the vibrant community SouthEnd ARTS fostered. The organization always celebrated the creativity of artists from all backgrounds and cultures while highlighting the power of art to bring attention to societal issues.

All artists featured in “Expressions of Hope” will receive a monetary donation to support their ongoing artistic endeavors. These donations will be presented during the ceremony. The artwork will also remain available for purchase on the final day of the exhibition. Guests will also enjoy a light reception.

Saying Goodbye, Leaving a Legacy

Following “Expressions of Hope,” SouthEnd ARTS will officially dissolve. Liles, the organization’s driving force for many years, reflects, “While this chapter closes, the impact of SouthEnd ARTS on the Charlotte art scene will continue to inspire. We are proud to leave behind a legacy of empowering artists and fostering an inclusive space for artistic expression.”
