On Saturday, September 11, 2010, Preserve Pro will host Digital Preservation For Your Family seminar, a half-day experience teaching families, community organizations, and religious organizations the latest techniques in preserving digital artifacts. Participants will learn about the latest practices for preserving digital photos, computer files and audiovisuals. This is a timely seminar when so many daily activities are captured digitally. However, digital memories are at risk. They are fragile, can easily be destroyed, and the format in which the items are stored will become obsolete.

Nooma Monika Rhue, trained Archivist and Library Director will share the latest research and tips for preserving digital memories. Nooma is known for taking her knowledge of archival services to the general community, helping them to be well informed on how to preserve their family heirlooms.  Nooma has hosted several preservation workshops for religious organizations. Nooma has built an archives from the ground-up, managed and implemented several digitization projects, including transferring instantaneous discs into digital audio. 

Digital Preservation For Your Family will help families, organizations and religious institutions receive practical tips for preserving digital media. The seminar will be held at the Levin Museum of the New South, September 11, 2010, Harris Room from 12:00Noon-3:00PM. Registration is $70, which includes resources, and refreshments.

Jessica has always entertained friends and family members throughout the years. She has an inevitable personality that will always cause you to smile or laugh. Born in Queens NY but raised in Conway SC, Jessica had a variety of influential people in her life that encouraged her to be the best that she could be. Graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in 2003 with a BA in Music Business, Jessica had the dream of pursuing a career in the entertainment business. Throughout the years she has been able to work as an A&R director of an indie label and sing background for gospel artist such as Patrick Love and Tye Tribbett.  Jessica is currently pursuing her Master’s in Vocal Performance at Winthrop University. She is also a member of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFEME), a non-profit professional organization dedicated to the support and empowerment of women of color in recorded music, the media, and related entertainment industry fields.  As a member of Temple Church International, she sings regularly with the praise team and choir. To make sure that the same opportunities, which were granted to her by others, are offered to the younger generation, Jessica also assists as a youth counselor. Jessica’s will is that people are able to come to see Jesus Christ through laughter and joy, also through the encouragement of the word of God.

Media personality Shayna D., in conjunction with Charlotte-based event management company, SassiTalk! have joined to bring the top business women, tastemakers, celebrity personalities and movers and shakers of Charlotte, NC together.   The Diva Lounge: Celebrating Fearless Females brings together hosts Shayna D. and local radio personality Yasmin Young, (Co-Host Power 98 Morning Maddhouse) in a celebration to honor local female entrepreneurs and entertainers, while providing guests the opportunity mix and mingle with their peers.  The Diva Lounge Charlotte will also be (re)introducing the attendees to exceptional local vendors in the hair care, beauty, and jewelry and fashion industry.  The event will spotlight Tara Davis, innovative fashion designer and owner of FLOW by Tara Davis and Janine Davis, motivational speaker for teen girls, founder and executive director of Girl Talk Foundation, Inc.  This event, will take place on Friday, August 20th in uptown Charlotte at Luna Lounge.
